Set up paid membership

Charge members to join your community with monthly subscriptions, yearly billing, or one-time purchases. Set a grace period for expired subscriptions and attach discount codes to offer promotions. Enable paid membership when creating a community or update it later in your community settings.

Before you get started

Enable paid membership

When creating a community or editing an existing one from Settings > General, check the Paid membership checkbox. Three pricing options are available: monthly subscriptions, yearly billing, and one-time purchases. You can also set a grace period and attach discount codes.

Set a grace period

The Grace period (days) field controls how long members keep access after their subscription ends. This gives members a buffer before losing access, which can help reduce churn from failed payments or delayed renewals. Set it to 0 to end access immediately when a subscription expires.

Offer a one-time purchase (optional)

Instead of a recurring subscription, you can let members pay once for access. Check Offer a one-time purchase, then enter the One-time price in USD.

Under How long does it give access?, choose one:

  • Forever — buyers keep access permanently.
  • For a set time — choose a preset duration (3 months, 6 months, or 9 months) or select Custom and enter a number of months.
