Set up certification
Last updated
Award certificates to members who complete courses or accumulate a minimum number of learning hours. Upload a custom certificate background, set completion thresholds, and let the platform issue certificates automatically.
Before you get started
- You must be a community admin or Suite Admin.
- Your community must have the Courses tab visible. See Manage a community to enable it.
Open certification settings
- Open your community and click Courses in the left sidebar.
- Click Certificate in the top toolbar.

The Certification settings dialog has two controls: Use a custom certificate design and Enable certification.

Upload a custom certificate design
-
Toggle Use a custom certificate design on.
-
Drag your certificate background image into the upload area, or click to browse. The image must be PNG or JPG, landscape A4, approximately 1600×1131 px.
-
Select the text color:
- Dark text — for light certificate backgrounds.
- Light text — for dark certificate backgrounds.

Arrange the certificate layout
The layout editor lets you drag each text block into position on the certificate preview. Use the preview modes to test how your layout looks with different content lengths:
-
Use the preview mode tabs to check your layout:
- Typical — shows average-length placeholder text.
- Longest — shows the longest possible text to check for overflow.
- My name — shows your own name so you can preview a real certificate.
-
Drag any text block on the certificate preview to reposition it.
-
Select a block to set its width to S, M, or L, or toggle its visibility on or off.
-
Click Reset layout to return all blocks to their default positions.

Enable certification and set thresholds
-
Toggle Enable certification on.
-
Enter a Certificate title.
-
Set the completion threshold using one or both options:
- Minimum courses completed — members must complete at least this many courses.
- Minimum hours of coursework — members must accumulate at least this many hours of learning.
-
Click Save.
Members who meet either threshold receive a certificate automatically.
